The Global COE Program “From the Earth to ‘Earths’” aims to establish an integrated academic discipline focused on the Earth and planetary sciences that unites astronomy and the biological sciences and promotes a cooperation between multisites in the world, centering on a cooperation between Tokyo Institute of Technology and the University of Tokyo (the Tokyo network).

Through bravely venturing into the cutting-edge interdisciplinary research, human resources with broad horizons are developed; through the Academic Meister Education provided by our multilevel team members and academic internship, personnel who have higher-activity in science and society are developed; and through active exchanges with overseas institutes, the development of individuals with abilities to take an active role in the world is made possible.

We aim to develop many young people who have abilities of integration, global communication, and action in science, which will help them flourish in a wide range of fields. These individuals will develop into the next generation of researchers who can pave the way for integrated sciences, and can tackle a wide range of fields in society and solve current global problems.
